How to save YouTube Shorts using a Shorts URL

YouTube Shorts are vertical short-form videos whose links often contain `/shorts/`. If you own the Short or have permission to save it, use the link to the exact Short rather than a channel page.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Open the Short, choose Share and copy the video URL.
  2. Select YouTube in Save99, then choose video with audio or muted video.
  3. Paste the Shorts URL and choose Find media files.
  4. Download an available file and check portrait orientation, audio and duration before reuse.

Important limits and troubleshooting

A Short may use sounds licensed for playback in YouTube without granting separate reuse rights. A bot-verification message or HTTP 429 from a server indicates an access restriction; repeated attempts are not recommended.

Frequently asked questions

Is saving a Short different from saving a standard video?

Both are YouTube media, but Shorts are typically vertical and use `/shorts/` links. Check the output orientation, sound and duration.

Can I repost someone else’s Short?

Only with appropriate permission and compliance with platform rules. Public visibility is not a republication license.

Only save content you own or have permission to use. The tool cannot access every public link and does not ask for social-account passwords.
